The Key is Entertainment
Hot off the heels of his JUNO award nomination for World Music Album of the Year, Emmanuel Jal spoke to Canadian student publication The Silhouette about his album The Key.

The Key is inspired by the values of The Key is E - from Education to Equality - as well as the issues affecting Africa's children today. Each song offers a window into some of the most pressing social issues of our generation.

Emmanuel told The Silhouette that the album was also inspired by his experiences as a child soldier in what is now South Sudan & the challenges he continues to face in his campaign for peace.

Although he didn't take home the prize, Emmanuel's nomination for Canada's version of the UK's BRIT Awards is a welcome acknowledgement of the quality & significance of his music. Thank you!
